I'm not counting the two disasterous weeks of band where I mangled a clarinet and made it sound worse than a cat in heat as having played an instrument.

Nah, I think you have to have thought yourself to have some degree of proficiency with or commitment to the instrument. Did you run screaming from the clarinet?

The band teacher suggested I try out for drama club. So I guess the clarinet ran away from me:)
