While I generally approve of people who desire to date me finding someone else to occupy them instead, I would prefer if the ones that I actually *like* would not go forth and date people who suck.

For one thing, it interferes with my general wish that people would do things that make them happy - when you're dating somebody that sucks, it's only a matter of time until you're miserable, and you can't tell somebody "Hey, your new girlfriend? She sucks. She's going to make you unhappy" - they don't listen, and then they just get mad at you.

For another thing, it makes me think that perhaps, if they want to date people that suck, and they also at some point wanted to date me, that I might also suck, and just not know that I suck.

Grumble grumble.

I was going to write something very nice and possibly even sweet, but, after noticing the tone of the other responses, it would probably be, in its own strange way, inappropriate. I'd write something equally ribald, but this is, after all, my work computer.

By the way, have you seen the Dudley Do-Right movie? Not that I would recommend it on general principle (it was fairly awful), but Snidely Whiplash reminded me of Malvito in bits... "I'm the Bad Guy! If he's wearing black now, who knows what other fun bad guy stuff he's been up to?"

I must admit to having missed that one. Didn't strike me as something to go out of my way for, though, I suppose, the Snidely Whiplash would be worth a rental ... it's nicer when I can pay a buck or two and fast-forward through the dross.

(Now that I think of it, I can't think of whether or not I added a movie featuring Brendon Fraser to my collection until I picked up QUIET AMERICAN ...)

There are very good reasons for that. (Like virtually every film he's ever been in.)
I'm not sure I'd pay to rent this one, but if you can catch it on television, you might be amused. (I happened to see the second half of it at my parents' house... they watch TV *all the time*. It's very unnerving.)
