I go away and things just go all to hell.
Dec. 16th, 2003 11:15 amWhile I generally approve of people who desire to date me finding someone else to occupy them instead, I would prefer if the ones that I actually *like* would not go forth and date people who suck.
For one thing, it interferes with my general wish that people would do things that make them happy - when you're dating somebody that sucks, it's only a matter of time until you're miserable, and you can't tell somebody "Hey, your new girlfriend? She sucks. She's going to make you unhappy" - they don't listen, and then they just get mad at you.
For another thing, it makes me think that perhaps, if they want to date people that suck, and they also at some point wanted to date me, that I might also suck, and just not know that I suck.
Grumble grumble.

Well, she may, but that's beside the point.
Godden know that I've done some half-baked things over the years out of love or lust or some misguided martyr complex. Your friend's choice of someone who baffles you in no way reflects on your worth as a partner, or even as a friend; each situation is nearly completely different.
Unless your name is Elektra and you've got a geas on you to only do things with men of certain genetic character, that is.
