[Poll #1135381]
EDIT: You are all encouraged to move to my town and start radio stations. Especially
gamera_spinning, who can skip the first step, as he already lives here.

Date: 2008-02-08 09:01 pm (UTC)However, I usually only use radio as something to listen to when I don't want to listen to my own MP3s, and then it's usually as background. Occasionally, I'll get sick of my MP3s and listen to the radio for some variety, as in a change from what I was hearing, not that I expect the radio to play a lot of different songs. I don't depend solely on radio, but when I do go to it, for whatever reason, it does it's job well.

Date: 2008-02-08 09:39 pm (UTC)(A friend used to work for ClearChannel identifying songs played on various alt-rock & 80s radio stations from around the country. Most stations were easy for him, but he hated having to do CD101 because of the sheer variety and obscurity of a lot of their playlist. Of course he loved getting to listen to them normally.)
Of course, being able to play podcasts and personal MP3s, as well as living near the edge of the broadcast range, has made a big difference in how much (little) I listen to the radio.
