The Tesla coils aren't us, they're from The Geek Group, who had a Tesla coil dance party room at Dragon*Con -- they rigged up the coils to sound at various pitches and used 'em to play music. It was the Coolest Fucking Thing I Have Ever Seen. :)

Is this the Geek Group that is headquartered in Kalamazoo? Man, I *know* those guys - their president played drums in my last band before I moved to Ann Arbor. Again, the smallness of my world astounds me.

OK, it *is* the same guys - I found this demo video of the singing Tesla coils on YouTube. Chris Boden, the narrator, was my drummer.

Except that I don't know any asparagus farmers. I do *know* someone who knows an asparagus farmer, though. =) There are times in my life when it seems like my purpose is to connect people who really need to get to know each other for whatever reason, and that works best if you have a big pool to draw from. Or maybe I'm just that lucky. =)
