Sorry we missed. The girls decided last minute they wanted to go to Gardner. And my Vice Principal decided to evaluate me tomorrow and a Grant is due midnight tonight. So I spent the night handing out candy and being a 1st year teacher, thank Einstein and Newton there's only one first year as a teacher.

OK, you guys are freakin' *hot*. Great photos! And the sandworm is brilliant. =)

In a completely unrelated question, what's the story with the Tesla coil pics immediately preceding the Halloween pics in your phtostream?

Thanks!
The Tesla coils aren't us, they're from The Geek Group, who had a Tesla coil dance party room at Dragon*Con -- they rigged up the coils to sound at various pitches and used 'em to play music. It was the Coolest Fucking Thing I Have Ever Seen. :)

Is this the Geek Group that is headquartered in Kalamazoo? Man, I *know* those guys - their president played drums in my last band before I moved to Ann Arbor. Again, the smallness of my world astounds me.

OK, it *is* the same guys - I found this demo video of the singing Tesla coils on YouTube. Chris Boden, the narrator, was my drummer.

Yep, I was just checking out their website. That's your boy. You know, at Feri camp, [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants and I were hypothesizing that you knew almost everybody in the world worth knowing. This does much to support that idea...

Except that I don't know any asparagus farmers. I do *know* someone who knows an asparagus farmer, though. =) There are times in my life when it seems like my purpose is to connect people who really need to get to know each other for whatever reason, and that works best if you have a big pool to draw from. Or maybe I'm just that lucky. =)

You are totally my new hero. Stupid Pumpkin Project makes you immediately awesome in my book. All I get are neighbors who don't even let their kids trick or treat.

I love Big Stupid Pumpkin Projects. They so rarely involve any actual "carving" of pumpkins. :)

You have:
1) Too much sexy in one house. I fear it will explode with the sexiness
2) Too much time and too many pumkins on your hands. (this, however, turned out freakin' cool!)

Hee! The entire sandworm project took:
- 7 pumpkins
- 12 miniature wrestling figurines
- 2 colors of spray paint
- 2 bamboo skewers
- tin foil and string in negligible amounts, and
- 1.5 hours.

Big Stupid Pumpkin Projects seem to take less time than regular jack-o-lantern carving. Minimal scooping. ;)

The figurines are what *made* it for me... You all are soooooooooo amusing!

Yeah, actually, I think the shopping for the right scale figurines took longer than putting the thing together did. These are little WWE guys. They come three to a pack, and the pack also contains either a folding chair or a ladder or something that a wrestler might use to hit another wrestler with. They really make the whole thing work, though.

I was surprised he was the only youth attendee, but he's a) pretty self-entertaining from what I've seen, and b) a good sport about adults trying to make him laugh. :D
