Apparently, there's an airshow at the downtown "airport" this weekend. This means that yesterday and today, we in the Northland have been treated to afternoons filled with the rush and whoosh of the Blue Angels passing and looping overhead. Now, you can say what you like about the militaristic bent of the nation, about our belligerent foreign policy, and so on, an you can be as big a fluffy bunny moonbat peacenik as you like, but you cannot tell me that there is a human being alive that looks at military aircraft (in general, and the Hornets in particular) that does not, in some small corner of his soul, go, "Ooooooooooh. Shiiiiiiiny", and perhaps drool a bit.

Also, the interweb informs me that at this airshow, there will be a fellow with a mockup Zero that he cobbled out of several other planes, and a handful of folks flying, of all things, biplanes. They're hawking frozen pizza, but still. Biplanes.

I think I had a purpose to this entry aside from "I like planes", but shit -- I like planes.

If you say so. It's possible that I was grumpy for a few years during high school. When I was 8-12, though, I had a bedroom that was covered in aircraft the way most chicks' bedrooms would be covered in pop stars at that age.

Me TOO!!! I could name every plane the military was currently using. I did my first "persuasive speech" in 6th grade about why some plane shoud be phased out over another plane. How funny.
