You know me, I do whatever [livejournal.com profile] chronarchy does. If it looks like fun, anyway.

Ask me one question for each topic (in depth or simple) and I will do the same for you. (Alternately, ask on subjects you think might be interesting, and ignore the rest. This also works.)

1. Travel
2. Religion
3. Family
4. Love
5. Sex
6. Hobbies
7. Pets
8. Friendship
9. Literature
10. Movies
11. Home town
12. Physical Appearance
13. Volunteer Work
14. Life Goals
15. The World

Hey. It was either this, or I was going to post about altered-state experiences over the weekend, and really, I can sum the important bits of that up here in one sentence: Where there should have been some big eff-off serious Gate with Guardians and whatnot, there were two itty-bitty garden gnomes with indigo hats. That's my magical working style, yessirreeBob.

Oh, cool.

Is that what you were laughing at? I'd wondered. :) Fortunately, I take laughter from you to be a positive sign at just about every possible juncture...

Oh yeah. I apologize for busting up in the middle of the thing -- it was just so patently ridiculous. I was all on guard and whatnot, and I couldn't see the Gate, so I was pretty sure something was going to jump out and rip off my metaphorical head, and then I look down at my feet, and there are these two garden gnomes. And one of them is winking. It was just more than I could bear with a straight face. But I figure you guys are all used to me anyway, y'know?

Oh, you didn't laugh out loud. I was just standing next to you and, ya know, facilitating the damn thing, so it was sort of my job to notice. The few people in this world who could've borne that with a straight face are no fun anyway.

I'll get out of the way of your meme question thingie now. :)

Okay, I'm doing this out of sheer Monday afternoon boredom and avoidance of Real Work, but please don't allow that to affect your perception of value in this relationship/interaction matrix. Also, I'm skipping a few due to low imaginationalization powers and think some of them are Too Big to form questions about today.

1. Travel -- Whether you're just doing a weekend road trip, or something longer, what's one nontraditional item that you must have with you? (Like, something other than your toothbrush.)

3. Family -- If you'd classify anybody in your chosen family as "Crazy Aunt" or "Crazy Uncle," then who would it be?

4. Love -- Would you help me make some special frosted boobie cupcakes sometime soon?

7. Pets -- If you're in an informal social situation, what part of a person near you are you most likely to pet if you're not sure about petting that person? Does this default petting zone change if you know the person better?

9. Literature -- Don't you think Anita Blake is way off base describing herself as "curvy" if she's 5'3" and weighing in at just 106 pounds? (I swear this causes me more problems with suspension of disbelief than anything else so far in the series.)

10. Movies -- Do you prefer going out to the movies, or watching them at home? If the answer is "it depends," then please share why.

12. Physical Appearance -- Why is it that you keep not getting your hair cut, despite your frustration with it?

13. Volunteer Work -- See #4, above.

Boobie cupcakes?

Hee. Cupcakes frosted with French Vanilla frosting, topped with a pink nonpareil mint kiss?

That would be a marvelous variation, you of the much more highly developed imagination. I was going to use pink frosting with a maraschino cherry on top. But, being a big fan of boobular diversity, I think it's worth mixing up the selection a bit.

For even more diversity (oh! the madness!), you could have some mocha-frosted cupcakes with hershey's kisses on top.

::applause::

Maybe I need to arrange a cupcake baking event sometime soon. We could have an assortment of cupcake "bases," which folks can then decorate in ways evocative of breasts. The fundraising idea is that some of us will then take these cupcakes to our offices to sell and then put the money toward the Breast Cancer 3-Day. Time to take this off Kimberly's thread...unless she's amused by this digression. XO

You and I should also arrange for a "sitting" for that Three Graces piece. Or something. (This may or may not be combined with cupcake baking.)

Oh yeah. We can totally do that. I think I can also do dragees for barbell piercings.

Anyway, yes, cupcakes. We should to it at your house, though.

Boobie cakes? I learned how to do those in 6th grade!

If you want bigger boobs (larger than cupcake size), use the cake pan for a doll skirt.

My Mom made my Dad a great birthday cake with that!

That's cool. I posted it out of Sheer Monday Work-Avoidance Desire, so I think that evens everything out. So here goes, then. Also, do you want quaestions back on every topic, or just on a selection thereof?

1. Travel -- Whether you're just doing a weekend road trip, or something longer, what's one nontraditional item that you must have with you? (Like, something other than your toothbrush.)
Overall, I tend to not bring anything that I don't at least have a reasonable suspicion that I'm going to use. That being said, it is often my perception that I will use a deck of cards or other game sort of thing that doesn't take up much room. Also, I am likely to carry or wear a talisman or "lucky charm" of one sort or another, just in case.

3. Family -- If you'd classify anybody in your chosen family as "Crazy Aunt" or "Crazy Uncle," then who would it be?
My Uncle G. gets all the Crazy Uncle votes. He's ex-intelligence, has lived in all sorts of exciting places, was growing a jungle in his backyard that featured a number of natural hallucinogens, that sort of thing. Also, he is the person in my family (other than me) most likely to make off-color jokes about hippos, which counts for a lot.

4. Love -- Would you help me make some special frosted boobie cupcakes sometime soon?
Sure. I am full of love for the boobies. And also, the cupcakes. I can't promise you t-shirts though.

7. Pets -- If you're in an informal social situation, what part of a person near you are you most likely to pet if you're not sure about petting that person? Does this default petting zone change if you know the person better?
My usual default petting strategy for people I'm unsure about the okay-ness of petting them is not to pet them at all. If I find that I must, for some reason, pet someone on the iffy list, I'll generally pet them about the head and shoulders (but not the face). People I know well (and who I know to be fine about being petted by me) are likely to be petted anywhere.

9. Literature -- Don't you think Anita Blake is way off base describing herself as "curvy" if she's 5'3" and weighing in at just 106 pounds? (I swear this causes me more problems with suspension of disbelief than anything else so far in the series.)
That's total bullshit. But, of course, she really sort of tips the Mary Sue scale anyway, so I read it with the same sort of "yeah right, now get to the sex scene" attitude that many people reserve for the Harlequin romances.

10. Movies -- Do you prefer going out to the movies, or watching them at home? If the answer is "it depends," then please share why.
I'd rather go out. If I try to watch movies at home, I have a hard time giving them my full attention. I always want to be doing something else while I watch. At the theater, my options for other things to be done are much more limited, and less likely to take away from the experience.

12. Physical Appearance -- Why is it that you keep not getting your hair cut, despite your frustration with it?
I don't know what you're talking about. I just had it cut last Thursday. The word on the street, though, is that I am trying to grow it out, at the request of [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants.

13. Volunteer Work -- See #4, above.

Yep.

Sure -- fire some questions back, whatever selection pleases you.

1. Travel -- If you were offered the Best Job in the History of the World, but it required you to relocate to somewhere like Left Armpit, Alabama, would you take the job?
2. Religion -- If you had to choose one of the world's "mainstream religions" to follow, which would you choose?
3. Family -- Would you rather be related to your family of origin, or [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn's? Note: If you choose his, he gets yours.
4. Love -- Right now, how many people alive on this earth would you say that you love?
5. Sex -- Is there anything that you feel is on the list of sexual things that most of the population has done that you personally have not done? If so, is it because you don't want to do that thing, or because you've never had the opportunity to do it?
6. Hobbies -- What's the least likely hobby that you have? In other words, what is the one thing that you do for fun that you think that people would be most surprised to discover that you do?
14. Life Goals -- Can you envision a point at which you would say, "Okay, I've marked everything off my list. I can die now."? If so, what would you have just done to get to that point?

1. Travel - How do you feel about/what do you think of your personal time-space continuum? Do you feel that it fits you well, are there changes/improvements you want to make, etc?
The space part is good. I could do with a little more time, though.

2. Religion - What's the most absurd ritual you've ever been to? Can you describe it for us?
I don't know if it was the most absurd, but the Discordian New Year ritual [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants, [livejournal.com profile] triadruid, [livejournal.com profile] opaljax and I put on at Gaia a few years ago was pretty damned absurd. It featured a hijacking of ritual by a bubble-blower wielding terrorist and a transvestite stewardess, whereupon people were exhorted to wear silly hats and costumes, march about randomly singing the FNORD song, become Popes, make Papal proclamations (which the rest of the congregation responded to gleefully with "Or not!", and so on. The most absurd part though, was that many of them handed their Pope cards back, apparently not being ready for that personal sovereignty thing.

3. Family - How many siblings and cousins do you have, anyways? ;)
Siblings: Well, it's like this. I'm an only child. My mom didn't have any kids other than me. My father, however, went on to marry another woman, with whom he had two daughters. He then later married a third woman who had two sons from a previous marriage. Which means I have no full siblings, two halfsisters, and two um... step halfbrothers. And then, there's Kryn, Dan (the abbot of lesbians), [livejournal.com profile] wildnsquirrelly and Emperor Khristoff, who also count in the sibling registry even though I am (thank the gods) not related by blood to any of them.
Cousins are a much more complicated matter, and would probably require another whole post to sort out.

4. Love - If you had to pick just one thing/one set of things in this reality that you hold the most love, the highest regard for, what would it/they be?
Things, not people? Okay then. I think the "thing" I love best is information.

5. Sex - What is your fantasy? Remember, we all, apparently, want to know.
Generally, when someone asks that sort of question, what they're looking for is a thing that you've always wanted to do but never managed it. From that standpoint, I don't know if I have any fantasies. I mean, I do occasionally have random dreams about sex with completely inappropriate people who may or may not, in fact, be monsters, but I'm not sure that counts. I do also have a recurring thing about [livejournal.com profile] triadruid with another man, but I'm not really doing anything in that scenario, I'm just watching. Does that count?

6. Hobbies - So when's the next flaunt? Hrmmmm? ;)
Don't know. We were supposed to do a Rock Star flaunt this spring, but everybody's so stupid busy that it's hard to get them together.

7. Pets - What's your most favoritest type of pet?
Dogs. Preferably of the ridiculously large variety.

8. Friendship - What's your main criteria(set) for friendship?
Must be brilliant, entertaining, and open-minded. Geeky a plus. Willing to do completely stupid things at the drop of a hat for amusement value also a plus. Must also be generally respectful of other human beings.

9. Literature - Who's your favoritest author(and why)?
The favorite authors list is very, very long. Currently sitting at the top of it may be Terry Pratchett. This would be on the grounds that he's riotously funny, and knows a damned sight more about being a magician, witch, or priest than a sizeable portion of people who write about being magicians, witches, or priests.

10. Movies - Which movie genre do you prefer, if any?
The sort with fighting and explosions in. Extra points for being based on comic books, sci-fi novels, or other such socially unacceptable pursuits.

11. Home town - What do you miss most about Florida, besides the weather?
Cuban food. That's about it.

New questions forthcoming.

#2 - That sounds like a really fun ritual!!!!!!!

#5 - Yes, that counts. I have this recurring fantasy about 2 men doing all sorts of things together, too. :)

#9 - He's towards the top on my list, too. My most favorite part of his novels are the little footnotes. That's what makes the books, for me. :)
