Good morning! It's time for stupid internet games! YAAAAAAAAAAY (Kermit yell)!

Discordianism
You scored 18 Angst, 70 Weirdness, and 68 Freedom!

Hail Eris! Hail Hail Hail! Hail yes!

Founded in the late 1950s, Discordianism is based around the worship (in the oddest sense of the term) of Eris, the Greek goddess of discord and chaos. Members practice a bizarre mixture of postmodernism, anarchy, absurdism, and Zen Buddhism.

While many would say that Discordianism is a joke masquerading as a religion, many Discordians would tell you it's a religion disguised as a joke. Or a religion disguised as a joke disguised as a religion. Others will just offer you a hot dog.

I believe the phrase I'm looking for is, "No shit, really."

However, well done on the Weirdness scale. This actually looks fairly accurate so far, though I too wonder about [livejournal.com profile] zylch's Angst results... there's some scary implications in there.

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare....

I suppose it's entirely possible that either a) there are a lot of people out there who are angstier than [livejournal.com profile] zylch, or b) [livejournal.com profile] zylch is not very angsty about religion, preferring to save her angst for other spheres of life.

I know which one I prefer.

Among the sources of humor I turned my dad onto when I was a kid were Looney Tunes (classics, no later than 1955) and Sesame Street. He thought they were just 'kid entertainment,' and pretty mindless. On Sesame Street, they always had a "News Flash" with Kermit as an on-the-scene reporter covering some fairytale mishap or another, and some roadblock falls on the progression of the tale.

My favorite of these was when Kermit interviews Pinocchio, who gives a 'live demonstration' of the truth/lie/nose thing. My dad laughed his ass off.

Hehe. That's awesome. I remember the Kermit interviews, but not the Pinocchio one. And I consider the Bugs Bunny cartoons in particular some sort of early initiation into the Mysteries of the Trickster gods.

well, yes, I'm pretty happy with my religious life at the moment, so I guess that's pretty angst-free. And they seemed to be defining angst as "Oh, god, I'm such a horrible sinner, I should die" which is not me at all.

Kay, gonna stop angsting about my angst now. Because as [livejournal.com profile] greektoomey pointed out, that's really too close to emo.

Incidentally, that's the first time I've ever described anyone or anything as "emo." I'm still not sure exactly what it means, except that it seems to apply to kids dressed like Elvis Costello.

I think we're too old to know emo. I think it's "I am awful, please pity me", as opposed to goth, which is more "I am awful, isn't that beautiful?". The clothes are similarly less compelling.

I agree, which is the reason for the Captain Caveman icon. ;)

Memo to me: Get more Pope Cards printed. (I'm almost out, thanks for reminding me!)

You have Pope Cards, and you didn't give me one?

I don't even know what it is, yet I want it.

You don't know what a Pope Card is? I should send you one right away.
Or, you could get your own (http://jubal.westnet.com/hyperdiscordia/popecard.html).

Oh, yeah, I remember now. And yes, I could get my own, but it would mean more if it was a gift I hadn't requested. So, uh, nevermind I guess. >_>

OK then.

I generally give out Pope Cards when I remember that I have some, which is to say, when I put my hand into the pocket of the jacket where the Pope Cards live and go, "What's that? Oh! Pope Cards!".

It's a sort of random event.
