Founded in the late 1950s, Discordianism is based around the worship (in the oddest sense of the term) of Eris, the Greek goddess of discord and chaos. Members practice a bizarre mixture of postmodernism, anarchy, absurdism, and Zen Buddhism.
While many would say that Discordianism is a joke masquerading as a religion, many Discordians would tell you it's a religion disguised as a joke. Or a religion disguised as a joke disguised as a religion. Others will just offer you a hot dog.
