Wild Hare's Lammas went off within reasonable expectations of well last night. I only flubbed one word (which was a pretty important word, but still, only one word), and the omens were pretty good. I didn't make my oath from Beltane and had to give up another pair of earrings, which makes me completely out of silver earrings, and these were my favorite. Oh well, that will teach me to let my mouth write checks my ass can't cash, I suppose. The deities invoked were all of the Norse persuasion, which was exciting, as I rarely deal with those powers, but apparently some of the ones I was calling showed up despite the fact that they don't owe me anything. I suppose that means now I owe them something. Anyway, nice rain that wasn't at all in the forecast occurred, and we got a lovely rainbow. Quoth [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants, "Well, you called Thor and Heimdall. What did you expect? I mean, Heimdall's only really got two signs, and the rainbow's the good one." So that's all right.

Then, we proceded to eat seventeen tons of bread with honey butter and pub cheese. If you ever get a chance to try [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants' braided herb bread, you should count yourself a lucky mortal indeed.

But most importantly, [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn and [livejournal.com profile] druidevo picked me up by the ankles and hung me for a minute, which was enough to straighten out my hips. I feel much better today, so massive thank you to those guys. It's good to have tall friends. Not only can they pick you up and dangle you, they also can see what's on the top shelf!

And then, because [livejournal.com profile] 8elements tagged me,
In no particular order:
1. Spicy food! I hear that ingestion of hot peppers cause the body to produce endorphins. It seems to be true, and I do like the endorphins. I mean, a good curry is not actually better than sex, but it's better than a sharp stick in the eye, or, gods forbid, running.
2. Touching people. Inclusive of sex, but not exclusive to sex. I communicate largely through touch, at least with people I like, providing that I think they won't mind that. It makes me question whether or not I'm actually an introvert, since my best method of recharging is petting someone I love.
3. Costuming. Apparently I didn't get to play dress up enough as a child, or seomthing. Any event that requires costuming just sort of perks me up, whether I'm the one in costume or not. DragonCon, for example. The programming is all good, but what I really go for is to see people's outfits.
4. Dogs. Who doesn't like dogs? I mean, I'm not the dog show sort, or anything. But dogs, especially large mutt dogs with unlikely combinations of characteristics, cheer me up immeasurably.
5. Implementing stupid/clever ideas immediately. That's one of the things I love the most about [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants and [livejournal.com profile] triadruid, and some of the other assorted friends. Some people get a clever idea and go, "Yeah, we should do that someday", and then never do anything about it. They have clever ideas and go "We should do that RIGHT NOW", and then proceed to make the thing happen. I love that.

I'm tagging everybody for this. If you want to talk about it, talk about it. Information may *want* to be free, but enthusiasm *demands* it. :)

Don't you also use the phrase 'pear shaped' to denote something that's gone wrong?

I got that up from watching to much BBCAmerica, rather like Madonna's pretentious fake accent:) When something goes wrong on "changing rooms" or "Ground force" they say it all went terribly pear shaped. It amused me so I picked it up and now I use it without even thinking.
