Two small blonde children are running through my office screaming and brandishing ping-pong paddles. I don't know whose they are or why they are here, but really, words cannot express how much I would like them to be elsewhere.

I used to work in the research library at a newspaper. Somehow the newsroom people decided that the library, having books, was the de-facto daytime childcare staging facility if they had to come in and work for a few hours on the weekend.

Because five-year-olds love twenty-pound reference books and multiple copies of the Wall Street Journal.

there is a time and a place for children and the workplace in my opinion is not the place. although i should say it really depends on the work place but i would never bring my children to work with me at the call center.
