In other other news, the Great Breakfast Working of 2005 manifested me a tasty biscuit and a potato cake this morning. All hail Breakfast.

Tasty biscuits alone are a work of magic. Ergo, avoid Bob Evans. Nasty, that.

I like Bob Evans' biscuits. I'm a syncretist *and* a heretic.

Yum.

This time-traveling thing has me really tripped up.

We had biscuits at a Bob Evans in Kentucky that were so bad, I swore I'd never have them again. I figured if they can't get them right in Kentucky, there's no hope. Perhaps we shouldn't have globalized.

In other breakfast news, avoid the grits in any northern Cracker Barrel. I don't know what they manage to do to grits, what with its just being boiling water, but it ain't pretty. I suppose you can define "northern" as you please, but just be sure to include the Cracker Barrel in KCK at I-70 and 78th. Sweet hominy Jesus!

Doom. I have not had biscuits in a Bob Evans in Kentucky, nor in any other establishment in Kentucky. But the biscuits at the Bob Evans on Metcalf, they're not bad. And the gravy, though the wrong color for sausage gravy, is also pretty tasty. I mean, mostly it's all about that they've figured out that biscuits and gravy and fried potatos go together, and they serve them as a meal without any of that other stuff (eggs, pancakes, etc) that just gets in the way.

I agree about the grits at Cracker Barrel, though. In fact, I really don't always want the grits at Cracker Barrel in the south, either. I like mine a little less like Tasty Wheat™, which is to say more like grits and less like library paste. And seriously, a little salt and pepper couldn't hurt.

Color? Color?

Should I even be asking about this?

*shudder*

It's the verb tenses that are so problematic.

How do they compare to Flaky Bisqui?

Wouldn't that be, "It is/was/will be the verb tenses that are/were/will be so problematic."? Actually, I don't know if the second verb needs to shift. "will be the plural noun that are..."?

Possibly "will haven being." I'll have to check the Guide. In the meantime, don't panic.

It's not that big a deal. It's brown, indicating that the liquid in it is water or broth, rather than white, indicating that the liquid in it is milk. In my world, breakfast gravy should be white.

*relief*

For some reason, I was thinking blue, or purple, or green, and I was getting quite ready to swear off sausage gravy from that chain of restaurants.

What's to fear about buttery bisquetine goodness?
