Didn't see that one coming
Mar. 14th, 2005 09:50 amYep. Let it be known, the theme of the weekend was "Well, I didn't see *that* one coming", both in the sarcastic and sincere inflections.
Surprises:
- Ritual did not in fact, flail and die.
cerunnos did not send me anything about his part until Sunday morning, which Freaked Me Right Out, but he performed like a champ in actual ritual space, so well done, there.
- My hair. It is orange. Bright shiny solar orange, a color only found when one applies a coat of weak bleach to red hair, and then attempts to apply a color overtop that doesn't take at all one bit, which is, of course, exactly what happened. I was attempting to go green for St. Patrick's day. However, it should be noted that Manic Panic dye is nothing, nothing in comparison with Special Effects. Special Effects' Sonic Green turned my hair, the bathtub, a glass bowl and some hapless wooden cooking implements green. Manic Panic's Green Envy failed to even turn the rinse water green, to say nothing of further non-ocurring greenness. Needless to say, I know what not to buy in the future.
Totally not a surprise:
- Failed to get any more than 20% of the membership to show up on Saturday for the Gaia board meeting, when 40% was needed to do the business at hand.
Anyway, that was that, and this is this, as the song says. Happy Steak and Blowjobs Day to all.

Local, of course.

Date: 2005-03-14 06:21 pm (UTC)That would require talking to people. I don't like most people enough to talk to them. I suppose I'll just have to cope with my involuntary steakless celibacy. Thanks for trying to motivate me, though.

Date: 2005-03-15 06:34 pm (UTC)Really, it's not *your* sturdiness that's in question. It's that we know the depths of resolve to which Saff will go to in the name of "teaching moments". Furniture fails that test, sometimes, when faced with an incoming student. She's willing to inflict damage on herself and others to get that point across, if needs be.
But mostly, we're just fucking with you. *grin*
Come on down to KC, please;
And now it all makes sense.
Date: 2005-03-15 06:52 pm (UTC)I am familiar with the GEOS tradition, if not the KC embellishments. In my experience, this has usually been practiced by those who would call themselves "friends," though, and I don't think we have been properly introduced. My name is Eli; how do you do? Don't mind if I add you to my LJ friendslist, I hope. (Consider that encouragement to stay the GEOS course.)
As mentioned in a subsequent thread, I plan to make the pilgrimage to your locale in August. I am sure that if it should be necessary, I will never have encountered a more pleasant aegis.
G'day, Eli
Date: 2005-03-16 04:11 am (UTC)I think what you're getting at is what I was trying (but obviously failing) to say in my last message; I had ascribed you a higher degree of 'friendliness' than you strictly deserved/were aware of, by simple virtue of seeing your name in several friends' journals and trading comments with you on occasion.
I don't post much, but you're absolutely welcome to add me if you so desire. I'll also do the reverse just so we stay on an even keel, as it were.
