The hedonism parade was, in fact, the Best Game Ever (tm)! Although we did start quite a bit later than we expected due to the whole Mark-setting-self-on-fire thing and attendant panic and desire to leave (causing those of us who remained behind at the ritual to take a much larger share of clean-up than would otherwise have been necessary), and some people did cancel out due to weather-related concerns (there's something about tornado warnings that makes people want to stay at home in the basement, I dunno), we still had a decent crowd, somewhere between 15 and 20.

So we descended upon the plaza in our uber-fabulous dress, handing out flowers and chocolates, waving and cheering, singing and generally carrying on. A high point of the evening involved Shane leaving a sign reading "Jesus got laid too" on the back of a particularly menacing and expensive black SUV with a praying Calvin sticker on the back. Photographic evidence was obtained.

We got generally good reaction - a lot of people asked what we were celebrating, and we ended up explaining the concept of Beltane quite a bit. We covered any number of innocent bystanders in glitter, and admonished several cranky-looking individuals to smile, enjoy life, get laid, and other helpful things.

I'll be covered in glitter for weeks. I ate quite a bit of it as well, but the container says it's non-toxic, so I suppose that's okay.

So, since this one went so well, we're looking for an excuse to do another one some time. Shane says do it New Orleans style - "It's Tuesday, let's have a parade!" I think this is a fine plan.

Oh, I'm really sorry to have not made it...I was one of those who opted to stay in due to the tornado warnings...and the tremendous lack of sleep I had had since Wednesday of last week.

Please do keep us posted as to further parades, I had really been looking foward to it. That's what I get, I suppose for wimping out due to the weather...

If I would have known what was going on I might have wimped out too. However, mother nature was cool with our "procession" and allowed us to make it safely through. Woot! Woot!

You know, they say the gods favor children, drunkards, and madmen. And two out of three isn't bad.
