I started the new job today.

To sum up: I now work with two guys named Chuck.

That is all.

I think it might be wise to work on minimizing your use of the preposition "up."

Or maximize it, if you want to go for (stupid-)funny instead.

Yes, I am twelve.

Er?

Can you unpack that a little? Some of us aren't sleeping as much as we used to, and comprehension may be suffering.

"What's up, Chuck?" Geddit? Upchuck! Like vomit!

Nevermind.

Yeah. I got the joke about 15 minutes after posting that, as I was getting in my car to go to work.

I'm really hazy until about 10:30 in the morning. Also, I probably would have gotten it quicker had I not used the word "up" in my post - I thought you were complaining about actual overuse. I even backchecked my posts to see if I did, in fact, say "up" a lot.

Conclusion: I should wait to respond to things until I get home in the afternoons.

Heh. It was only the presence of "up" in "sum up" that made the joke occur to me in the first place.

Re: morning fuzziness, I'm right there with you, which is why I generally try to get up at least two hours before I have to leave.

Working is good!

Humming the woodchuck song to yourself when they are around might be even better though.
'How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?' which, when hummed, sounds more like some pirate ship deck hand's tune. Hmmm.

Another possibility is identifying them as up-Chuck and wood-Chuck...depending on which one was either nauseating or possibly perky and which was dull as a post. Up to you.

We actually had a family of woodchucks in the back yard for a while, and our research led us to discover that a groundhog is the same animal. This of course led to:

How much ground can a groundhog hog if a groundhog could hog ground?

*pauses*

Maybe you had to be there.
