If I've read this correctly, you may ask for his permission, you simply may not report back to him afterwards.

Obtaining permission for the activity and obtaining permission to describe the activity are wholly separate.

I suppose I'm lucky in that having been raised as an only child, I have no particular hang-ups about the thought of my sisters having sex. I've even met some of the boyfriends, and not even had any impulse to threaten them beyond telling them they'd damned well better use protection.
