deviant_mute today:
i'm not going to bed. sometimes pulling an allnighter. is. refreshing somehow.
+ it constributes to a strange gnosis and glassworld perspective the next day.
This is sometimes true, especially when you follow up the all-night experience with a healthy dose of stimulant in the morning. The facility of observation is enhanced, but the facility of analysis is shot all to hell, at least in my experience. Therefore, I'm going to try not to come to any conclusions today, if I can help it. Sort of data-collection mode only. It's a separation of function I've never tried before.
EDIT: I just locked myself out of the office. Things are off to a stellar start this morning. It's not a good sign when you're ready to start ingesting interesting chemicals before 10:00 a.m., I'm sure of it.
FURTHER EDIT: "Interesting chemicals" may or may not include the 200 micrograms of levoxyl I already ingested this morning. That's twice what I've taken daily for the last few days, but only 25 mic. higher than my normal dose, so I'm not sure if that's going to get exciting or not. The worst thing that could happen is that I wouldn't be able to eat or sleep, and apparently, I'm there with that already, so it's probably okay. The best thing that could happen is that I could stay awake all day and possibly even drag my ass out to a movie after work. We'll see.

I totally agree with your point about analysis and observation. It's not just you =)

Date: 2004-07-22 07:40 am (UTC)Let me tell you about the freaky hallucinations that you get by the 60th or 70th hour of uninterrupted consciousness.
Gibba gabba WOO WOO biffalorble sneeeeeeeeeee! Did you see that? Something's rustling the drapes! No, it's behind the bookshelf. No, it's under the couch! *gibber*

Date: 2004-07-22 09:27 am (UTC)My friend and I were actually working on a taxonomy of cluttersharks. My bedroom at the time was full to overflowing with clutter of all sorts; paper, books, magazines, empty beverage containers, furniture piled precipitously on top of other furniture, you name it. And constantly scuttling about just out of sight amidst the clutter were cluttersharks of varying shapes and sizes (judging from the rustling we saw and heard).
And yes - objects that mundanes would perceive as stationary had a disconcerting tendency to wave, oscillate, vibrate, and undulate, all with tracers. Every surface was covered with intricate, moving textures. And, uhh... could we not talk about the spiders please? *shudder*
Also annoying was the tendency to light a cigarette, only to discover that one was already burning in the ashtray. I can't even begin to guess how many times this happened.

Date: 2004-07-22 09:56 am (UTC)When I did it we had a swimming pool. I'd go in and out of the pool, forgetting whether I was coming or going.
And then I had a mild freak outfor 4 hours when I was walking through the hallway, closed my eyes to blink and went into microsleep, forcing me to question whether or not i was now dreaming, or if i had just blinked.
Of course, with the bizarre effects of sleep dep taking hold, it's difficult to distinguish between the dream world and the real
heh. so fun though:)

and no sleep.
and my monitor is kind of. blinky.
as is the rest of reality.
so. i'll probably guzzle water to avoid conking out as it wears off.
oh, not to mention four hours on an art pieces after the paper.
but. i'm in my office. not locked out. hah! :D

Date: 2004-07-22 08:34 am (UTC)And I'm not locked out anymore (of course). It was the stereotypical thing where you go out to get the paper, and then you come back and the door is locked. I had to go around the back of the building and come in the other door.

Date: 2004-07-22 09:31 am (UTC)I still don't understand how it can afect you so quickly and me not for months, but thanks for reminding me to take mine today. (I'm trying a new experiment where I keep some in my pocket so I can take it whenever I remember to.)
