Some person just called to tell me they are planning to take legal action against me for non-payment of a bill. This is extra special because it is a bill that, while yes, I probably do owe, I have never seen. When last I spoke to this individual, I asked him to send me a copy of the bill at work. I gave him the work address, but lo, no bill came. So today he's calling me saying he's going to call his lawyers, and I say "Send me the bill". Mais non. He has already sent the bill (to the gods know where) and will not send it again. So he says "Well, I'm sorry, but I'm just going to have to turn it over to my attorney". So that's a fun way to start one's week.
Happy Monday, everybody.
Happy Monday, everybody.

As you have requested to see the bill before you pay it and he won't provide it, he isn't attempting to mitigate his damages ... which the courts frown on.
Likely his attorney will advise him of this as well and you will probably receive a bill via some form of mail requiring a signature in order to receive it.
Best of luck!
