I thought this joke was much funnier than it probably really is.

Q. What's the difference between a northern fairy-tale and a southern fairy-tale?
A. The northern fairy-tale begins with "Once upon a time..." and the southern fairy-tale begins with "Y'all ain't gonna believe this shit..."

So I told this joke to a friend of mine (another Southerner, who occasionally does begin stories in the Accepted Southern Style). I didn't get to finish it though. I asked the question, and he immediately responded with "Is this gonna have something to do with gay porn?"

I was so caught off-guard that I couldn't give the end-line. It's just going to be that kind of day, I can tell.

LOL!!! that's a new one. :) i am guessing that the ozarks is part of the south since that is where i'm from and that's how we start our stories. :)
