Now that [livejournal.com profile] triadruid knocked off one of the films I hadn't seen (I hadn't seen the Greek Wedding movie either, despite its featuring of John Corbett, who was my most favorite television character EVER, Chris in the Morning on Northern Exposure...) I can play the movie game.

To continue the meme, take off two films you don't care anything about, add two that you really really do, and rank them in order from couldn't live without to couldn't care less...

The Princess Bride
The Shawshank Redemption
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Pi
Clerks
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
Gettysburg
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I cut Finding Nemo and Moulin Rouge as I haven't seen either of them, and added Shawshank Redemption (which makes me a liar to [livejournal.com profile] triadruid, as apparently there is one King-based film that I saw and really liked - I'd forgotten that one) and Pi.

Am I the only person who didn't much care for Ferris Bueller's Day Off, by the way? I mean, granted, I didn't see it when I was actually in high school, which may be part of the problem, but still.

I could see WarGames again, I believe.
I think I saw him in something recently which involved camping out in an abandoned building across the street from his ex and her new lover, whose ex also ended up camping out in the building, and they watched their exes... I have no idea what film that was though, but I remember it was notable for its use of the "skull-fucking" concept. Now that I'm thinking of it though, that "recently" was like 5 years ago. But more recently than WarGames (And I actually didn't see FBDO until about 3 years ago, just for point of reference).

Yeah, I believe that is "Addicted to Love", which I've only seen small pieces of.

Meh. When you said "didn't see it in HS", I did the math and figured you'd seen it too early. It came out when *I* was in 6th grade, I think. That's what I get for remembering, for once, that I'm older than you. ;)

skullfucking, not at the movies.

No, as it turns out, there were a lot of movies from the Time Before I Moved Out Mom's House(tm) that I didn't see, as it was my mother's policy to restrict me from watching most live-action films and television until I was a teenager, so that I wouldn't get the idea that life was all about sex, or something like that. So I missed most of the 80's in film altogether, and had to catch up to it later.

skullfucking or the movies

had to catch up on the sex, or on the films?

Yes. Although I doubt that I missed a lot of sex in the 80's, as I was 12 in 1989. I didn't technically start missing out on sex until the 90's.
