Me: I don't know - I'm just spoiling for an argument today.

Dan: Um. OK. "How Soon is Now" sounded like crap until those guys on "Charmed" remade it.

Good times!

I'd like to say the original is bad ass, although I do dig the t.A.t.u. cover a lot, but then again I'm a whore for accents and I like them as a whole. ;) There, be mad at that. ;)

This is the part where I reveal how much of a geek I truly am...

I have a small collection of covers of How Soon is Now, most of which, including the one that happens to appear on Charmed (which is stupid and evil and does not know that it is stupid and evil (http://www.timecube.com)). I really like the original song (obviously), which makes me inclined to also like the covers... however, my collection does not include the t.A.t.u. version, as my one and only hearing of it made me wish to stick sharp things up my nose and drive them into my brain. Accents and lesbian schoolgirlism are both on my good list, but I mean really. It's just that bad.

Nah, I can totally see what you mean. For the record, I listened to t.A.t.u. before I had any idea what they looked like, or was aware of their appearant lesbianism. (Also, the school girl thing only applies to "All the things she said."). Anyway, I like their voices, and yes, I like that high shift that takes place where it probably sounds like a cat in heat to most people. That's just me though, and I do enjoy their own stuff a lot more.
