[livejournal.com profile] kcwitch is back from her trip to the great state of Florida and informs me of this sad fact: Not only do the ride operators on Pirates of the Caribbean no longer wear the bad-ass pirate socks, but they don't even wear pirate costumes anymore. Apparently, Disney has moved that part of the work-force to an uninteresting burgundy uniform. Bastards.

Micheal Eisner, this is unacceptable. Michael, I blame you for a general degradation of all that Disney stands for, a crimson list of crimes against humanity: direct-to-video releases of fairy-tale "sequels", cutting detail from animation to speed the release process, and now this. Now this. I don't know how you sleep at night, sir.

You go, Female Person!!

The worst part is ... why? I mean, details like that helped keep Disney incredibly fun. the next earthquake in California will be Unca Walt turning over in his grave. (Or urn, since he was cremated and put in Forest Lawn, but that's just a sniggly detail ...)

That..

On the other hand, one could choose to view this as an action item - there is now a void in the world, a decline in the number of persons dressed as a pirate on any given day.

This cannot be. It is now imperative that we talk more people into dressing like pirates, so that balance can be restored to the universe.

(Or something. This could just be my dress-up fetish talking.)

Because that's what you do...

I think I know how he sleeps at night. On a pillow. And a bed. Both made of money. He also wears a night cap. It's made of money. Perhaps you could visit him at his home for dinner one night, I hear they're having money.

Alladin II was when Disney, as a force of magical awe-inspiring fun, "jumped the shark". I used to look forward to new Disney releases like I used to look forward to Intel's newest processor. But now, I haven't even bothered to see the full feature-length animations (Disney Code for 'not supposed to suck as bad') Nemo... Atlantis, Lilo & Stitch? No idea on them... didn't bother with them... waited until they were playing on the TVs at Costco.

Dunno when you'll get this...

But can you e-mail me the details for the RHPS tonight or at least send me the website so I can toddle on over there at the appointed time? :) Thanks!
