Added to my DM resume: I problem-solved a story and wrote a published gaming author out of a corner last night. :)

What actually happened: triadruid and I met up with archway for pool and game-doctoring. I suck at pool. On the other hand, I rawk at game writing. We sorted out a huge part of the background story for archway's World of Darkness game, which I get huge minuses on because a) it's modern, and b) it's World of Darkness, and I don't play either. And yet, sewed up everything neatly and built in some plot hooks for later. And then got my ass handed to me at pool. Because I suck at pool. *grin*

Had some discussion with archway about the business of writing, as well. And I think it's just about time for me to figure out how to get paid for writing. I think I'm probably good enough at it now. Doesn't have to be gaming writing. It's just that, you know, I'm going to write *anyway*, I might as well get something out of it other than less words in my head.

I know some people who do freelance writing, but nobody who makes a living at it. There's probably a reason for that. But I'm not looking to write for a living, I'm looking to write for an occasional bit of economic input.

That being said, I've just submitted a proposal for a couple of essays in a small-press pagan anthology (which pays a little). I got the call for submissions from rio_luna, who probably knows a lot more about it than I do.

I wouldn't do it to make a living either, but the suplimentary income would work wonders. My other friend who does it is Jewish and got invited by a friend to do articles for a Jewish magazine. If there were any paying publications out there for heretical Christians I'd be set!

I have been called an intriguing mix of liberalism and orthodoxy and that's pretty accurate. My key points of departure are that I don't believe people of other religions go to hell by default. I believe other gods exist and not in the sense that they're demons pretending to be gods. I don't believe homosexuality is wrong and that when the Bible speaks of it it is not speaking of consensual adult same-sex relationships as we understand them today. If there's a one-word name for that particular deviation from the fiath I'd love to hear it.
