Parade Permits
Mar. 21st, 2003 10:28 amWe got the application for the parade permit yesterday - they want us to be insured for $1 million. This could be difficult, since I'm a)not even sure who "we" are, and b) reasonably sure that none of us are carrying that kind of coverage.
On the bright side, we probably don't need a permit at all (as entertaining as the idea of having one was) since as far as I can tell, the parade will take place on the sidewalks, without the addition of marching bands, horses, cars, buses, or any of the other things the permit application asks about. So it's really more of a processional than a parade.
It's cool that people got into this, but on the other hand, we had to have a serious sitdown discussion yesterday about the fact that there is in fact, no higher purpose to the parade than to have a good time, facilitate other people having a good time, and go to the pub (not that those are not noble aims in and of themselves).
Up the vibe, and whatnot.
