In the spirit of "pics or it didn't happen", here's the industrial fetish piece I was talking about earlier. Clicking on the cut implies that you agree to pretend these are better pictures. Also, of course, you can click on the pic to see the bigger version.

Industrial Fetish - a steel locking washer, the bone of an unfortunate small creature (probably a raccoon, but possibly a badger), a wooden iron-cross bead, and a beetle's carapace, all tied up with copper wire. Pin.

Madgirl Choker - Locking washers, wooden iron-cross beads, ruby glass, and aluminum chain.

I <3 gears like that in the pin.

I don't know why.

Sweet huh? It had some crappy caption on it when I found it. Got rid of that right quick. I don't really remember where I found it. You are free to gank it luv.

It's sort of cartoony, I think. Bought a handful of them at ReStore for .50. I was thinking I might go back up there and get some more. :)

Maybe that's the appeal for me. Cartoon Network is on 95% of the time in my house.

I <3 cartoons! ;-p

I really don't know what it is. I like the look of that for some reason.

That's amazingly fabulous, love the pin.

Thanks :)

These things are way more fun to make than the usual 'pretty necklace with a pendant' things that I make.

Would you sell the pin, and if so, how much?

Oh, absolutely. I was planning on having this stuff (and some other pieces in the same vein) at the Spring Bazaar on 4/26. I haven't got round to pricing them yet, though - wanna make me an offer? :)

Very nice!

Now, what does it do...?

It doesn't do anything *yet*. But I was thinking it might be the sort of thing that would carry the spirit of an ancient and beloved Volkswagen to aid the wearer in matters of performance and help facilitate change. Or, it might identify the wearer as a member of the Kheper Clan, nomadic, motorcycle-riding scavengers who roam a post-apocalyptic North American landscape. Or, it might summon tiny gremlins for a variety of nefarious purposes. Lots of possibilities. Hard to say.

Very kewl! I love the idea of keeping the spirit of a car you once loved. I could see myself doing that with a decommissioned desktop someday...

If I ever decommissioned one of the ones I actually named, of course. As of now, they're all working, or just waiting for me to finally getting around to setting up that Linux server...

Sweet! And for "drunken," that's pretty good photography. =)

Which is to say that it's not any worse than my sober photography. :)

Actually, by the Johnny Fever principle, it's much better than your usual sober photography...

All right. That's probably true - the first set were mostly my usual macro fuckups, but the second set are probably some of the best jewelry shots I have ever taken. (Which is why I should hire someone else to do that part of my website, should I ever get around to doing one.)

Or just have a drink every time you're photographing new pieces for the site.

I am oddly and tangentially reminded of Doktor Sleepless and the fun of the Grinder symnbol as jewelry.
