I'm amused that the answers for #1 trended toward the last two options at first, then the people with more impulse control logged in, and you've got 7 'Ummm...no' responses now. :)

Keeping in mind, I answered #1 as I thought I should ... recent past evidence to the contrary ignored.

#2 is an interesting concept. I find myself considering a similar idea for company parties and the like, where one might find you are currently lacking a partner or for political reasons you can't bring a "real" partner to said event ... having a pool of "escorts" for such events available. Veddy intrestin'.
