In the last two days, since I've been ill and at home with no real desire to do anything active, I've been watching some of the TV I downloaded many moons ago.

I am 11 episodes into season one of the latest incarnation of Doctor Who. Based on this extensive research, I've decided that I'd like to be Jack Harkness when I grow up, if that's all right with you all. Also, I've determined that the key to successful television is a liberal inclusion of zombies of various types.

Since I've only got 2 shows left in this set, and I'm anticipating being home again tomorrow (there's a bit in an early episode where they explode an alien with vinegar and there's this gooey green foulness everywhere -- it was sadly reminiscent of stuff coming out of my lungs), I've gone ahead and picked up seasons 2 and 3, just in case.

And now it's time to go check the boy and see if he's breathing. He's slept for about the last 48 hours, basically. Does anybody in the KC metro not have this crap? For the record, I did not enjoy The Stand, and I'm feeling uncomfortably reminded of it.

If you run out of stuff to download/watch, I highly recommend you check out Heroes. It's right up your alley - heroes pop up in the most unlikely of places, ordinary people perform extraordinary feats, etc.

I'm just sayin'.

Yeah, I saw part of the first episode of that, it looked all right.

The Stand; I have that one :-)!! (The miniseries, not the disease. At least, I don't think...)

In regards to Capt. Jack Harkness, well ...

I think we've got it the other way around. :(

Also, I think that's in regard to zombies, but you might go back and check. :)

Season 1 is great!

Season 2 is ok, but Season 3 is better. Unless you LIKE Rose, and then not so much. *L*

Welcome to the Whoverse! My husband and I just got through a 6 week marathon of all the old Doctor Who and they just came out with more, so we are going to go back and watch those too.

I mostly like Rose because the Doctor likes Rose, I think.

I also like Rose because she looks like an actual human being, as opposed to the women generally seen on most American television.

Captain Jack Harness is a confusing man.

As in, once he spins off into his own show (Torchwood), there's a scene with him and Spike Captain John Hart that ... well...

It's enough to confuse a straight boy like me.

Oh dear. It'll take me forever to get to that bit. Better watch a few more today. *G*

Zombies are the new pirates, just as pirates were the new ninjas, and ninjas were the new vampires. The big question is what comes next? If I had to guess, I'd say robots.

Or possibly faerie-type beings, given the number of current/recent films featuring such.

Faeries may very well be the new zombies.

ooh, zombie faeries ... having wings, they'd find it much easier to zoom up to people's heads to get to the yummy brainz!

It would also take way more of them to take down an adult human. Zombie faerie swarm? What a good idea that isn't. :)

If you like Capt Jack Harkness, then you really need to check out the BBC series Torchwood. Lex is right the scenes with Capt. Jack and Capt Spike are truly... wow! Even for a straight guy.
