Snow Day!

I get Protestant Work Ethic points for trying to go to work today, don't I? Alas (or yay), the road was so bad that triadruid and I working together were only able to make it .9 miles from the house before getting stuck, getting stuck again, witnessing all the other people getting stuck in vehicles much more equipped to handle snow than Asmodeus (which is to say SCHOOL BUSES), and turning around.

On the bright side, Asmodeus started without any difficulty this morning.

On the other bright side, I'm at home all day. IM me or something. ;)

I guess this would be the downside of my Jeep and living only a few miles from work ... people would be pointing fingers and laughing if I didn't show up for work.

Wow, I missed the bad part I guess!
I was out driving in it from midnight until 6ish (between OVP, Westport, and Grandview and back) and it was fine. Obviously snowy but not slick at all. Probably because there weren't very many other cars on the road!

yeah, J wasnt supposed to be in class till noon, so I didnt start driving till about 10:45, and everything was great by then... so we didnt even think it possible that classes had been cancelled...
so we hit wink, thanks for the info via the phone, the place is great!

The other side of Holmes south of 118th was ugly this morning. I was relatively fine, being that I was going southbound, but northbounders were cursing their luck, their gods, and everything else. Why? Because two cars, who might have gotten in an accident but had no apparent damage (and I only went by at about 3mph, dictated by traffic and road conditions, so I had plenty of time to safely look), and were parked about 3/4 in the northbound lane with flashers on just a bit south of 118th. Northbound traffic stretched all the way to 135th and beyond on 135th in both directions.

One of the times I'm glad I drive an SUV. :) It handled the unplowed/unscraped road just fine.
