[Poll #1089909]
Of course you know nothing about the coffee bar except the name, right? So for bonus points, what do you imagine is in the coffee bar with the name you liked best (whether it's your name or mine, doesn't matter)? What does that coffee bar look like, and what sorts of things are available there?

Yes, I have a dream of quitting my job and running a coffee bar. If you had my job, you would have that dream too. And the other one, the one where you climb up a never-ending stack of paper, only to be knocked down by the Missouri State Legislature...

I have a dream....

My dream is a renovated house-bookstore coffee bar. Each room has a theme, the bedroom would have erotic novels, romances, etc, the dining room would have cookbooks, kids bedrooms with kids books, even bathroom readers in the potty. I would bake whatever took my fancy, and serve great coffee. I would probably name it Becky's books or something wildly unimaginative because I suck at naming stuff, hence my less than brilliant user name:)

About that name...

I'm thinking "Bean Attic" would work better, now that I've had all of five minutes to think on it. The "attic" works as a place to store the beans (and where one would go to find something, in this case, beans), as a sound alike for "addict", and as a subtle tie to "fanatic."

Changed my first answer for the name to some so brilliant it took me a while to think it. *snicker*

Pendragon's Coffee House

Or, someone once told me they would name their store 'Broomstix', which I liked.

I voted for everything, because I don't mind any name as long as the coffee is good. "Those all suck!" does ring any bells for me, though.

I love the Nine Muses name. I would think it would be a funky place - an old warehouse, maybe. It would have the coffee shop, with highest quality coffee and amazing soups and baked goods and stuff. Then there would be used books on shelves all over the place. It would be a used bookstore, too, see. There would be a large, eclectic stock, and the books would be inexpensive, because the stock would be great, so there'd be awesome turn-over. Also, there would be murals of the nine muses themselves... Maybe depicted as comic book style superhero goddesses?? And you'd have to have funky, comfy seating all over, and lots of events - music, yes, but that can be intimidating to a lot of people (self included). Readings, game nights, stitchathons, some sort of volunteer work that could be done there. (Like refurbishing toys and clothes and stuff for people, or making blankets, or taking old crappy coats and making them cool so poor people don't have to wear any old nasty looking thing just because they're struggling).

Wow. I have a lot of ideas! Maybe we should go into business together!

Have a different coffee for each of the nine muses. Don't have time or really the experience to elucidate.

With the amount of money you can get for even mediocre coffe/tea these days, I think "Black Gold" is quite appropos as a name.

"Geektopia", on the other hand, would have a heavily soundproofed back room for LAN parties, and the fanciest coffee machines I could find.
