We spent the weekend in our usual way, which is to say that we did far too many things in far too short a stretch of time. Ah, well. Friday night, [livejournal.com profile] auraseer came into town to visit [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants and we all went out to Gaia Games Night and played a lot of Zendo and got busted with booze by the minister of the church we rent from. Ah, well. I think our lease says we can have alcohol in the building. If not, I expect we'll hear about it.

Saturday, we went to Ren Fest and saw ... everyone in the world. :) We also saw the Jolly Rogers doing a dramatic adaptation of 'The Little Mermaid', which was screamingly funny. At one point, [livejournal.com profile] mesniu, who is the evil villainous sea hag (complete with tentacles) does this bit about the mermaid trading her voice for legs, and he's like, "Okay, I'm gonna make a special gesture and it takes your voice away -- this is high-level magic stuff. Okay, you ready? Got your middle pillar all aligned?", and then he whacks the mermaid in the throat. High comedy. We were rolling in the effing aisles. I also picked up a small bag of assorted animal bones for the fell purpose of making a Jagermonster costume for DragonCon. *costuming glee*

Later, we saw S.J. Tucker play a show, which was also screamingly funny, and very impressive. I picked up a t-shirt from her, which reads "Lost Girls Pirate Academy", and which has already proved to be an excellent investment in the practice of bringing the weird to the people. :)

For lo, I wore it yesterday, and at the grocery store, the cashier (in her 60s) read it, and said, "Hey! I want to be in the Lost Girls Pirate Academy! Can I do that?". There was a great moment of weird cheer, because it's never too late to decide not to be a grownup, yes? Which reminds me, soon it will be cool enough for the Pirate v. Ninja Olympics, which will be the subject of another post.

You could get one of your very own (http://www.skinnywhitechick.com/merch.php). :)
The ladies' shirts do run quite small, though.
