Date: 2007-09-07 09:08 pm (UTC)On the other hand, the characters all evolve, at very few points do you have any idea what's going to happen next (and when you do, you're often wrong), and it's one of the few series in which I found myself actually shifting in my character loyalties (two of the characters that I currently most respect, I began the series despising).
The problem really is that he's not done with the series yet, and is notorious for holding books over long past their promised release date. The last one was almost a year overdue, and ended up addressing only half of the characters. So it requires some degree of patience, but I think it's very rewarding.
