So... we went to Colorado for a little bit, but we're back now. Fun was had. The link goes to pictures of mountains and cats and things. [livejournal.com profile] ysabel, [livejournal.com profile] amaltheae and [livejournal.com profile] fenton were fabulous hosts, and also we got to briefly visit [livejournal.com profile] rio_luna, which also was good.

On the way back, we visited a Real American Roadside Attraction, Prairie Dog Town in Colby, Kansas. This, too, was an adventure.

And we're home. Balderdash tomorrow. :)

Oh you went to see the World's Largest Prairie Dog! I've been there!

Did they still have 6 legged cows there?

Indeed they did. Ah, western Kansas, where defective livestock becomes a tourist attraction.

"Climbed" is sort of a strong term. You can drive up most of the way, and then take a sort of goat-trail up the last few hundred feet. We are somewhat adventurous, but also pretty damned lazy.

Yes, but you still survived the dire lack of air (with pressure as low as 80% of that at sea level), and the terrible, biting wind-chill of 40 degrees above zero (Fahrenheit)!

Okay, seriously, 14k does some nasty things to the body, and that was a day that was near 100 degrees in Denver, and at least 80-90 anywhere people actually *live*, in the mountains, generally. Even those of us used to 5000-8000 feet weren't exactly running around like spring chickens, and [livejournal.com profile] ysabel doesn't count... she's part mountain goat.

Nice pictures, though. Glad they turned out.

Heh. I was experiencing Flatlander Sparkly Time once we got to the top, so it became necessary to not spend a lot of time up there, but mostly we were okay. Like I was telling [livejournal.com profile] ysabel, the oxygen I lose due to lowered pressure, I gain due to lack of allergens. Fair trade.

I'd like to see [livejournal.com profile] amaltheae's pictures, too.
