1. There is nowhere in Kansas City (with the possible exception of the airport) where one can get one's shoes shined on short notice. I have noted before that Midwesterners generally dress badly, and I'm adding this observation on to that one. Wear crappy shoes, Kansas City, it's okay, everyone else is doing it. NOTE: I am actually pleased that Midwesterners dress badly, because that makes one less thing that I have to worry about in life. And, in the unfashionable, slightly autistic heart of my heart, I really prefer to wear black t-shirts and jeans all the time anyway.

2. As I feared, the weight-loss is returning me to previous comic-book proportions. I tried to buy a new bra on Saturday, and was measured out as a 34DDD. 34DDD, children. You cannot buy anything for this off the rack. For those of you for whom buying large bras is not an everyday activity, the alarming part of this is that you can't really buy anything larger than a C cup in anything smaller than a 36 band. A 34DDD is probably the equivalent of looking for men's pants in 28 waist, 38 inseam. Or some such thing.

3. The me of six months ago was clever, and the me of today is still listening to that old me subconsciously. Having failed to put the end-of-EiR events on the calendar, I look at the next few weeks and discover that I don't really have to reschedule much of anything to attend them, yay, and that we were smart enough to split out 'critique of final ritual and review of test' from 'graduation ceremony'. We are smart.

34DDD is my size, actually.

I get Bali bras from One Hanes Place. You will find that Bali has a couple of styles that come in 34DDD.

1. This is why everyone should have his/her own can of saddle soap, a can of appropriately colored shoe/boot polish, and a good quality rag or 8.

2. Try either Fredericks or Lane Bryant, you can even check their webpages before you sally forth in search of a store. I think I remember seeing at LB bras that go down to that band size.

Oh, and we do. It just seemed like, in the course of everything else we had to do on Saturday, that we might just pay someone else to do it, and that this would be faster. Mais non.

And I wish we had a Frederick's. I <3 trashy lingerie, and they tend to carry my size. Alas, nope. I've been to Lane Bryant, but it seemed like everything they had was too big for me. Don't think I looked for bras though, so that might be worth a try. Thanks!

Son of a.... LB doesn't do below a 36. I knew they had some 3#, because I usually have to wade through them looking for the 46DD but couldn't remember how far down they went. I'll keep thinking.

Go to Freddie's webpage & look at the "full figured" (aka you have real tits, not just a fried egg with a nipple). They've got several in a 34F.

OH! Also try figleaves.com. It looks like they have some cute styles in that size.

Wow! figleaves has an amazing selection for larger sizes. Thanks for the tip.

As it would happen, my husband has shoe-shine materials. What might be simpler though, he tells me that K-Mart does, as well.

Yeah, we are totally competent and stocked to shine our own shoes at EHQ, but it seemed as if it would be easier/take less time to pay someone else to do it. That is, apparently, not true.

Clair de Lune is the place to go. You will find DDD at Lane Bryant, but good luck finding a 34. Balis outlet at the Great Mall, as rougewench pointed out, is also a good place, but they're not as pretty....

Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants goes to Clair de Lune, and recommends them as well. I just need to find the time to get over there...

:-) I hope to make it over there some time this week as mine they have to order. Good luck with your search!!

For ordering online, you may find this site (http://www.barenecessities.com/Bras-Price_catalog_nxs,31,size,940,sb,PA.htm) and this site (http://www.biggerbras.com/catalog/bras-and-lingerie-by-size.cfm?size=34DDD&start=1) useful. Also, I seem to remember <a href="http://www.Roamans.com>Roaman's</a> carrying bras in that size, but their site is currently down and I can't check.

Oooh! Also, a little trick I learned with shopping at online stores...google the store name and the word coupon. Usually that'll find you a coupon code that'll give ya a price break!

I can completely commiserate! I was a 36DD before I got pregnant and finding a nursing bra that can flex hourly with the size change has definitely been a challenge. You would think that since guys tend to like big tits the males in charge would make clothes for us. But alas, such is not the case. The other thing I love about this is the button down shirt. I don't know about you, but I've given up on them fitting!
