Yesterday kind of sucked. It rained out Gaia's Beltane. So far, Beltane has been cancelled for hail, tornados, and now, flash-flooding all over the metro. Woo.

This is not the end of the greatest hits list of yesterday, though, because you also have to take into account the fact that our roof is leaking again (per N. Stephenson, it is always leaky, but at the moment it is also leaking, which is different). When the roof leaks, it leaks into the smoke detectors. When there was water in the smoke detector on the top floor of the house, it makes the smoke detector go off without cease, which sucks. So two years ago or so, we dismantled that smoke detector.

So it was sort of a surprise when the two smoke detectors on the lower level of the house went off in ear-bursting discord at 8 a.m. yesterday. We figure that the water triggered the top one, and then leaked through the system down to the bottom ones. So we dismantled them, too. Now, with any luck, we'll have a fire.

wow.

we had cold rain all weekend, and Diana said the 2hour window of opportunity they had on saturday, was pissed away by an inexperienced priestess, and the downpour started just as they started their pole late.

my coven managed to do a nice pole on saturday beofere their rain, however recent drama meant that the mood was not very happy except for the guests.

Beltane Blue Balls for everyone.

Beltane Blue Balls for everyone.

Yeah, pretty much.

I did see some excellent photos of stuff going on in England, with poles going and wicker-men burning and whatnot, but over here, it mostly was craptacular.

btw

Well, it hasn't been cancelled for a rain of frogs or a plague of locusts yet, at least. So there's something to look forward to for next year!

Naw, it's Midsummer that you cancel for plagues of locusts.

It's Beltaine that you cancel for a plague of sexual frustration, then?

I think I'd rather opt for the locusts, given the option...

No, if you're having a plague of sexual frustration already, you want to go ahead and have the Beltane. In fact, cancelling Beltane sometimes causes plagues of sexual frustration. I'm not sure if that happened this year or not, but I could take a poll.
