- Have discovered, by listening to 96.5's Vintage Buzz Weekend, that I know every "alternative" song recorded between 1970 and 1999.

- Have also discovered the whereabouts of my hidden cache of CDs.

- Now have large enough HD to rip all of said CDs, so that I can actually listen to them.

I'm excited. Are you excited?

EDIT: ZOMG I found Death to the Pixies. In this moment, I am invincible.

Given your journalism background and your absolute love of music have you ever pursued a career as a radio DJ? It seems like it might be a nice niche for you.

Oh gods and monsters, no. They get paid crap, and they mostly have very little say in what they may and may not play. I listened to an interview with one of the Rock 105 djs from Jax (whose name I no longer remember), who detailed all the reasons why people who love music should not become radio djs -- that sense of 'oh god no' has stuck with me when the very name of the speaker has not.
