So I've been living in Carey & David's apartment for a few weeks, in prep to move with them to the new house. All well, all good. They're buying the house, I'm essentially letting from them. All well, all good. For the past few days, there has been some doubt that the closing on the house would go according to plan, and that we would in fact have anywhere to go at the end of the month.

But everything did work out, they closed this morning, and there is a house, and we can all go and live there. (Yay) However, I had to learn about the outcome of the thing on the gaia e-list. Couldn't even get a note saying - Oh, by the way, we're not going to be homeless, and you're not either.

Maybe I'm just bitchy today, but that bothered me.

I can't in any way speak for Carey, David, or Carey and David (which sounds like a brand name for jellies and cheese products, can't imagine why), but what have their schedules been of late? One would think that a note would be easy enough, but as one who is working, participating in the Renaissance Festival, and planning a wedding Not to mention the recent involvement in a difficult show),I know how easy it is for time to get away. Only recently was I able to ask a friend about being an attendant, and I had to do this via email because I simply was not finding the time to make a simple phone call.

Now, maybe there are other reasons or motivations behind this. All I am saying is to be patient and try to talk to one or the other or both (if you try to talk to both together make sure to have some jelly or cheese product on hand, and maybe some summer sausage). It could be a simple misunderstanding.

*Sigh* I wish I was in Disney World right now ...

I agree with that last.

I'm not mortally offended, just feeling slighted, and I'm sure I'll be over it and have forgotten the whole thing by the time I get home.
Probably just being petty.

What is this fascination you have with summer sausage? For that matter, what is summer sausage? Do people outside the midwest eat it?

Actually, I know not the difference between, say, summer sausage and winter sausage, but, in this case, it's a product that is sold a lot in those lovely little Pepperidge Farm kiosks (and similar places).

I tend to see it as picnic food; it's good (not as good as pepperoni but that's a matter of taste) and goes well with cheese and crackers.

I'm not sure of the regional factor; didn't see any at Disney World, but, then, they tend towards something a little less picnic-ish in their eateries.
