I may have lost my mind. Caroline called me last night - "Oh, Sally and Daniel are over and we've got a plan for the fall show..." And I listened to the proposal, and cheerfully said "OK, I'm in!". Must be insane. I'm just adjusting to teaching the Gaia class every other week, and I'm about to start helping Carey put together her Hellenic rituals for next month. So sure, let's do a show.

Anyway, the show sounds like fun - from what they're talking about, it'll be a pretty fast-paced, improv-heavy sort of beast, based on the idea of a fairy tale being written and re-written on the spot by a group of children. Some bits of the show will be set, but some will be different with each iteration, or at least that's how I understand it.

As per usual, I'm stage-managing/utility-infielding.

Cool, as a tangent, what are you doing for Hellenic rituals? Very curious. That's really neat.

(asks the pagan whose Goddess is Athena)

Thus far, the calendar looks like this (http://www.gaiacommunity.org/chapter6.htm). These should be reasonable approximations of reconstructionist Hellenist rituals, except that they will be large-group experiences, and there will be more emphasis on group participation than is usually encountered in Hellenist practices. (Or so I understand - much of my understanding of modern Hellenic groups comes from the Hellenist members of ADF (http://www.adf.org), and their discussions. Although the ADF is a good resource/organization for reconstructionists of all stripe, it may not represent the totality of reconstructionist experience.)

As a Hellenic pagan I so wish I could take in these classes, but with the upcoming festival, it would not be possible (pout)...I would really dig getting my hands on course materials, however...

I'd be happy to send you a copy. The course materials may be a little low-level for you though, as they're being written for an audience that has no previous knowledge beyond a basic grip on who the big 12 Olympians might be.

Fair enough, however, one never knows what knowledge may be gleaned from a new source...

Is this an indication that you would rather be acting? (As in the actor's complaint that he really wants to direct?) I take it by the above that you find yourself doing this a lot.

No, not really. I'm much better at the administrative end of a production than at the performance end.

Oh, and incidentally,

Aaawwwww ... ...

(Had to giggle about the next to last sentence, though ... I think it's the first time anyone has ever attributed morals to me.)
