Tarot Playlist: Swords

Of course, the suit of Swords is the first one I have finished. Raise your hand if you're surprised. There aren't any court cards in this list, as it sort of makes sense to me to post them all together. They'll happen later. Once I sort out Cups and Pentacles.

Also, I'm not totally set on the three or the five, here. I mean, one would think that, as goth as my musical tastes run, I could come up with a better song for heart-ripping betrayal, and for telling other people to fuck off so you can think about yourself. And yet! There it is.

Huh. Swords don't seem to carry quite a such negative connotation to me as they do to most people, at least for the most part. Or at least I'm more comfortable with what they have to say.

Some of them could probably have some more positive connotations than the ones I've gone with, here. The two, for example, could be about filtering, essentially saying that when the other person has something worthwhile to say, you'll be there to listen. The five could be a very legitimate sort of opportunism, like "oh, you guys don't need these anymore? I'll find a good home for that, and that...". For some people, a better song for the eight might be "Happiness in Slavery" (which indeed was my first pick, before going for something a little more canon). Nine and ten, though, are pretty much going to be unremitting doom.

Also, despite the general doom level of these cards, the court for Swords are the kind of people I like to hang out with, so there you go.
