Just for the record, I like fixing hardware. It makes me feel sassy.

Also, I now inexplicably have approximately 80 G free hard drive space. I feel a sudden need to download things.

Dude. I installed my new motherboard and hard drive in a new case ten days ago. Sunday I plugged in a borrowed video card, and tomorrow the RAM, cpu, and optical drive show up, and I'll be all set to install Vista.

I'm giddy with anticipation.

Shiny! I think I am going to fail to adopt Vista, at least until it gets to the point where it doesn't attempt to eat your soul on install, or whatever. (Actually some DRM issues, but eat your soul sounds better.) You'll have to let us know how it works and if it's worth it.

Oh, I'm aware of Vista's DRM issues, which is one reason why I intend to keep the new box (I haven't named it yet) free of pirated media. All of that stuff will stay on the old XP box (Serenity) and external hard drives, where it can be easily disconnected in case of subpoena.

The new box (Galactica, perhaps?) is mostly for tinkering and games and stuff. As if I didn't expect finding Vista drivers to be sufficiently challenging, I'll be installing the 64-bit version, for added frustration value! Mainly I'm just anticipating the joy of discovering the ins and outs of a new operating system. And MS Office 2007, which I've heard has a completely new UI. (What? I'm a geek.)

I wouldn't allow myself to depend on a new Windows OS until at least the first service pack, anyway. And why would I want to get rid of my perfectly good XP installation, which I've spent YEARS tweaking so that it's just the way I like it?

(BTW, I'm not paying for Vista or Office either, my sister gets free licenses through her MS Technet subscription.)

I've recently acquired season one of the show Heroes. It is very twisted and funny. Let me know if you want a copy to help fill the space on your drive. Also, more music is being added to Sandcrawler and should be available for early March.

Yay Sandcrawler!

(Which reminds me -- what I really ought to do is find my other CDs. Then I will be able to rip them and have trade.)

Also, I saw the first episode of Heroes and enjoyed the hell out of it, so I think that we probably would like to see the rest of them. Thanks!

As I figure out this torrent thingy, more shows will be available. Not like my computer has anything better to do than sit and download the crap I want all day anyway.

It's going to take me some time to add the new albums (I keep forgetting to throw them in and rip them to the drive) and there's about 300 sitting in my office that I did not have before.

I've got the software to make DVD's now, so if you want me to, I can put up to three episodes of a show on disc and get them to you that way. Then, you watch it on TV.

I think you need a 10 Gig invite to TVTorrents. Then you can download sull seasons of your favorite television to watch whenever you want to, without commercials, in HiDef.

Want an invite?

That is such a bad idea (which means yes, please!). :)

I keep getting accused of being a bad influence. Wonder why?
