So, I was supposed to go dick around in Lawrence today with [livejournal.com profile] opaljax, but due to the generally coated-in-ice nature of the world, didn't get to. Instead, I:

- Did 3 loads of laundry
- Cleaned my room
- Went shopping locally
- Planned Dragon*Con costumes for me and [livejournal.com profile] triadruid
- Bought split ring pliers
- Replaced my ailing hard drive with a shiny new 80 gig drive
- Built a bookshelf (with [livejournal.com profile] triadruid)
- Found that all the books that had previously been piled in a large mountain on the living room floor fit in the bookshelf, yay!

Hmmm ...

What would I have to give to have you two (or, hell, you three ... make it a party) take a quick look at my video/sound equipment and plan and/or build a small three-to-four level shelf on which I could secure the video/stereo equipment? (Especially the DVD player, so as to not worry about it falling off of the top of the TV set again?)

Had I carpentry skills, I wouldn't be asking, but ...

Are we talking about a custom job or helping you set up one of those prefab units? Either is possible, and if you need more storage space/weirder dimensions than the usual particleboard-and-dowels prefab will accommodate, it makes sense, just trying to define the parameters of what you need here.

I'm thinking a custom situation; I have looked about, especially at WallyWorld, and have yet to see a shelf unit that meets the specs that I would prefer.

Who, Ra?

"Planned Dragon*Con costumes for me and triadruid"

Care to elaborate? Or are we going to avoid any kind of group theamed costumes?

He's working on a coat to go as Sammael from Wheel of Time. I'm working on a Promethea. (I already mostly have my Wheel of Time garb, heh. I'm going as a Wavemistress, which is a lot of stuff that I already have and a few accessories I have to make.) I'm also bringing my pirate garb again, because that's always good.

Group costumes are funny, but only if the whole group is somewhere together, which doesn't much happen for us.

Productive eh?

I did one of those things all weekend. And I waited until 8:00 on Monday to do it! And ended up doing 3 loads of it...

:-)

So. We meeting soon for rehearsal?

We should do that. I think tonight, Thursday, and Saturday are mostly clear, but our wikicalendar is down right now so I can't say for sure...

I think you are correct about our clear days. I thought tomorrow was also clear, do you have something?

I have Columbus Park tomorrow evening, it may or may not have made it to the calendar yet.

They're a small group, so I doubt they'll cancel for weather.

Thank heaven. Anyway. What's the logic in doing it Thursday evening, after the funeral?

That's kind-of what I'm thinking. [livejournal.com profile] 8elements is in for that, I'll talk to B.

I am open all week. Just pick a day (In theory, I could meet you at your house after work today) and time and location.

We've been out of Santa Flaunt since January 2nd due to other commitments, and no one else made much noise about taking it over so it got dropped from the schedule. There's noise in [livejournal.com profile] flaunt_dev about a Stupid Cupid sometime in February...

Wow. Totally missed that. Stunning.

So, I guess I'll round up some folks and go see Pan's Labyrinth at the Glenwood or something. Sounds like you guys are totally out of Saturday night, so I'll ask what you've got planned for Friday?

Wandering away wondering if Games Night will go on for Friday...

Saturday, we seem to be having Mystery School at our place, which I may have to help with. Friday, we were planning on doing Games, but if Games falls through, I'm cool with going to see the film.

I'm thinking Games needs some sort of overhaul. I have some ideas, but not sure how to make them happen yet.

Know what? I think we need to call for a better turn-out for games night. Put out a personal reminder that, in fact, we can get together and have fun with it.

Pan will have to wait for Saturday or some other night. For that matter, I've yet to see Eragon, damn it.
