We're on a mission from God.

Saturday night, I was out waiting for a movie with kittenpants and triadruid, and in the Culver's Custard, where we were joyously partaking of some sundaes, it came to pass that someone said something about the Blues Brothers movie. And kittenpants says, "We should go on a mission from God. Road trip, mission from God. It's a great idea."

Okay, but how does one get a mission from God? Where would we go? What would we do? According to kittenpants, in order to qualify as a Mission From God Road Trip, you have to have a ridiculous yet worthwhile charitable goal. There might be other qualifications, but I'm not sure. I've never been on a mission from God, you know.

But apparently now is the time: This is my horoscope from Free Will Astrology for the week:
"LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): I was sitting in San Francisco's Cafe Gratitude, meditating on your horoscope. In my notebook I'd doodled a giant hand reaching down to earth from the clouds. It was holding a silver platter that bore a book whose title was "Fresh Instructions." This gift was being offered to a half-lion, half-human creature that represented you. Shortly after I finished this drawing, a woman came through the front door of the restaurant and sat at a nearby table. Her t-shirt had a message that was the perfect caption for the image I'd made: "Maybe God has bigger plans for you than you have for yourself."

So, Internet, got any suggestions/divinations/requirements?

EDIT: fionnabhar reminds me of the other aspect of this question, which we did address at the time, but which I neglected to document: Which god? We've got an absolute load of gods for the household, and that's not even counting gods we might agree to hire out to. I'm keeping my brain open.

I think you need to back way up and ask a preliminary question. You say you're on a mission from God.

Which god?

Perhaps the mission is to serve many vs one

Perhaps your mission from God/desses is this: perhaps you are to find a UU group somewhere in country that has interest in somesort of Pagan 101 or the Wheel of Festivals, etc. class. You could offer to teach class/lead ritual for no fee (perhaps you could land free housing with member). This seems to be a worthy charitable mission, and you could serve many vs just one god/es. Which could be the point afterall.

wait, I have more to say afterall! This kind of thing could lead to actually writing the curriculum to publish with the UU for other churches to purchase. Which is like a double mission from Gods (seems appropriate) since it would serve another congregation and ones own.

There is more interest in this kind of thing then one would think. We used to get approached at GA about curriculum, do we have a team for workshops we send out, etc. I know the UU is always looking for new curriculum to publish. And a church that is interested but could never afford a speaker/workshop fee would be very interested indeed. You could start by sending flyers to a few churches and see your response. Years ago that UU in Iowa (ask kittenpants is she can remember/access churches info---its the flaming death road trip we took) was extremely interested in a riutal team coming up to do a Sunday service (if memory served they had some sort of loose new moon or full moon gathering already in swing).
