Step One: Move out Roommate
Step Two: Get rid of junk in basement
Step Three: Fix wall, paint
Step Four: Tear out remaining basement carpet
Step Five: Replace carpet
Step Six: Obtain couch
Step Seven: Watch movies in our own home, like we live there, or something!

Can't help on steps one and two very much, but I do know how to work with sheet rock, and can paint. I even know how to lay carpet (although I'm not able to do it anymore). Give me a call, it's not like I have a life, and would love an excuse to get out of the house.

As for step 6... We have a couch in our garage (Opaljax's old one), it has a broken back so would have to be placed against a wall, really needs to be steam-cleaned, and is heavy as hell. But it is comfy, and free if you want it.
