Step One: Move out Roommate
Step Two: Get rid of junk in basement
Step Three: Fix wall, paint
Step Four: Tear out remaining basement carpet
Step Five: Replace carpet
Step Six: Obtain couch
Step Seven: Watch movies in our own home, like we live there, or something!

He's not a bad roommate -- he's just been in the house longer than we're really comfortable having a roommate. Realistically, our household is insular enough that we shouldn't have considered a roommate at all, but you know, you don't know until you try, I guess.

Also, when we get past the wall and carpet space and into the furniture space, it might not hurt to have a feng shui consultation. Unless you think that consulting on repairs is worthwhile, I suppose :)

I guess I was just assuming bad roommate (projection at it's finest) as my roommate situation was terrible. Still recommend a time table though.

As far as Feng Shui is conserned, repairs not so much but colors, composition and placement are important. Granted, you can pretty much do what ever you want, but when it comes to "dealing" with those decision, the "fixes" if you will, can get interesting if you don't consider it in your initial decision. (Granted this is the philosophy of get the consultation in early and aviod issues later...) :-p

Actually, I would *love* to come over and FS the whole house if the other 2/3s are interested or just the refurbished area.

Speaking of WB, I want to put in a free consultation for raffle again. It will be a bit of a different set up than last years.

Yeah, he's agreed to be out by the end of the month. Also, I understand he's been apartment hunting with his partner, so that's good. I can't help but imagine that not only will we be happier when it's just us on our house, but also they will be happier when it's just them in their house, you know?

Also, we had a plan for the room, but I'm not sure if it's still the plan. Maybe you could come over and we could discuss? I wouldn't mind getting you to come out and look at the house as a whole, but I would like it to be less of a pit before you do -- that's part of the projects for the next few weeks.

And I will add you to the raffle list, thank you!

By the end of October? That's good that he's looking and believe me, it's a nice feeling to have *your* house back. Trust me.

I would love to come over and discuss. As far as it a pit, been there, done that, doesn't bother me a bit. Let me know when a good time is and I will get my sketch book out (unless you guys are like me and just *happen* to have dimentional sketches of all the rooms and thier relations in the house). :-P I have been jonesing to do some Feng Shui that is not my own (you can/should only do so much before things a balanced and you shouldn't change any more.)

Cool. I'm on a list. :-p

We made some dimensional sketches when we moved in, to look at where to put the furniture, but I shall be damned if I know what we did with them.

I have to-scale sketches of the living room and master bedroom on graph paper, complete with to-scale cut-outs of all the furniture.

Yes, I am a decorating geek. Why do you ask?

That's fantastic. I haven't quite taken it to that level but I really should. I do not care for the flow in the living room and really want to move stuff but spacial dynamics is not my strong suit.

I really need to do that...

Moving little pieces of paper around is a hell of a lot easier than moving the actual furniture. Just saying.

That's why I'm saying I should. Once we put it in place, [livejournal.com profile] cerrunos said he wasn't moving it again unless it was a 1) a damn good reason and 2) proven that it could be moved there without actually doing it.
