I have typically followed the thought that if you don't want to read something in my journal, you'll just scroll past it and ignore it. But lately, it seems like it would be more polite to set up some filters, especially as I think that I might start posting some things here that I traditionally have not. So, do me a favor, would you, and make a note of what you would like to read, and what you would prefer not to. If you choose yes on any of the following, I will add you. If you choose no, I will not add you, and will, in fact, remove you if you're currently on that filter. If you click that you don't care, I will add you if I want to, or not, if I don't. Thanks for your time, I'm trying to make my little corner of livejournal a better place.

Come to think of it, isn't a reader-interest filter better implemented as a separate account?

To a certain extent, I think so, yes. I have a separate journal for [livejournal.com profile] thejobfairy, since I thought there wouldn't be a lot of overlap between people who wanted to read that and people who generally want to read my stuff. And that may be a good solution for the fiction bits, since they haven't appeared here before, but the other things, I figure most people who read me will want to read that stuff, because that's what they're reading now. If 3/4 of the list wants to read something, I'd rather filter it to them than have them have to add another journal.
