Last night I slept for about 7 hours uninterrupted. In addition, I had a dream in which [livejournal.com profile] triadruid, [livejournal.com profile] iron_clad, [livejournal.com profile] malvito and I were driving to a convention of some sort in Boston, and had to stop and get a hotel room on the way, because the drive was so long. Nothing particularly happened, we just had to get a room, and we slept. So I had a dream about sleeping. Meta-sleep. Given all that, you wouldn't think I would be this tired.

Or, maybe, given the rest of the weekend, you would. Saturday, which was [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants and [livejournal.com profile] triadruid's anniversary, we had a Gaia business meeting in the morning, during which [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants got the official nod to officiate at [livejournal.com profile] kimjerosky's wedding, which was Saturday afternoon. It was a crazily informal wedding, to which everyone came in costume (the bride and groom were in vaguely ren attire, the rest of the wedding party included a pirate, a goth prom girl, a druid, a mafioso, a goth cowboy, possibly a witch, and a sniper in the sort of burlap-strip tatters for hiding in the bushes), and during which, the actual ceremony lasted about 10 minutes (do you? yes. do you? yes. ok, kiss.). Best moments included the sniper hiding about 5 feet from the groom while waiting for pictures, and the groom not being able to find him, and the druid announcing at the garter toss that if it landed "on anything nature" it was his. This was all good until someone pointed out that the sniper was more or less a bush, so it did not seem impossible that he was also claiming the sniper as his. Also, I wore my full pirate regalia, and was approached by [livejournal.com profile] kimjerosky's next door neighbor, who had no costume and was looking terribly like the straight man, except that he immediately said "You know, pirates reduce global warming", and then there was much rejoicing.

Later, we went to the Drink All [livejournal.com profile] zylch's Booze party at Haven. We did not manage to attain our lofty goal, but we did our best. The remaining Booze was divided up to be sent to new homes. There was a raging KURS game, during which someone enacted some sort of "take a shot when you play a three" rule, and lo, no matter what the fortunes of the game, my hand seemed to be full of threes. Doom on a stick. I'm thinking that between this party and DragonCon, now would be a good time to stop drinking long enough to detox.

We rolled home at about 3:30 in the morning, just in time to get a few hours of sleep, and then get up and do ritual at Gaia on Sunday. I was a rum drinker, so I was not hung over, but I can't say the same for the rest of the attendees. Fortunately, it was a quiet ritual, low light, and whatnot. The ritual looked at what was stopping people from being prosperous and successful, and included a big honking trance/meditation thingie, which I wrote. About ten minutes before we left the house to go to the ritual, [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants read it over and said something like, "Wow -- this is nothing at all like what a trance is." Which indicated to me that I know nothing about what a trance is, because I thought it was exactly like what a trance was. Anyway, it was too late to fix it, so we went ahead with it. It seemed to function very much like a trance, so either it wasn't a big deal, or our group is so well-trained that they didn't notice.

There was a bit in the trance where participants were supposed to encounter a guardian thing that stopped them from being successful. I was picturing something like the Watcher at the Threshhold, some sort of demon or dragon or ogre or something, but our bunch, apparently they work differently. People's guardians were every damned thing, their patron deities, a bunch of humourous prairie dogs, everything. Pagans. I ask you.

Anyway, the thing didn't seem to suck, although I'm sure I'll hear differently at critiques. I'm pleased to note that I don't have another ritual on my schedule until the beginning of November. And then, it's a rave ritual, so odds are good I won't have to talk much. I'm tired of the sound of my voice. Anyway, the gods know I need the time to work on Winter Bazaar.

No rest for the wicked, even with the meta-sleep.

Eh. The whole intention was to allow people to look at their world as relates to money/success/prosperity and see what their issues were in a metaphorical sort of way, so that they could begin to think of how to deal with those issues more effectively. If your world does not include a Big Problem that blocks you, then you shouldn't see one. Your experience makes sense in the context of you, or you wouldn't have had it. I was just expecting that most people would see a Big Scary Problem, and have to fight it or absorb it or something, and apparently that was not where a lot of people were.

Hell, I got all kinds of Big Scary Problems on this one. Again, Hearing (re: the lack of) is My Doom.

I did encounter some problems of the useful sort, actually. From the hilltop, my "city" was very charming and romantic-looking. But once I got down there and started walking around? Very poor city planning. The cobbled streets kept twisting my ankles, some of pathways wandered quite aimlessly without actually getting anywhere, most of them were not wide enough to allow passage of more than a few people and a bicycle, etc.

Do we need a business meeting to regroup? (She asks, under the possibly false assumption that you're thinking what she's thinking.)

I was leaving room for that possibility, but I can't really help with the other stuff. Nine Fires, maybe I can a little. :-)

I understand. I was noticing this weekend that the treadmill of daily chores is getting easier to manage lately, which gives me more time and energy to lift my head for longer-term stuff. Which has been sorely neglected in so many ways. Yay. (end hijacking of thread)

My temple of prosperity was ascetic and bare. My "city" was a run down, quasi-medieval village that would consider torching to be a civic improvement. Can't remember the next bit, then I picked up the thread again at some guy having maps, and being supposed to choose one. I took them all. Then another blank bit, then a tree blocking the path (I decided not to bother and wandered off into the woods). More blank, then something about a talisman that didn't make much sense without the preceding context, then the outduction. This tells me nothing about myself that I didn't already know, but I'm ok with that.

I'm pretty sure the blank bits weren't really sleeping, though, because my muscles had been so tensed I could barely move right afterwords. Knees, hips, shoulders, the whole lot were seized up in a massive knot of "ow." So perhaps something Important will hit me over the head at 3 am a month and a half from now. Or not.
