Quick bits

1) This has got to be the worst news story I've read in weeks: Transport truck accident looses penguins, other cold-water exotics onto Texas highway.

2) Happy times with the voting thing yesterday as Trinity pet candidate Jolie Justus wins in the primaries. She'll be the Dem candidate for MO state senate, and we dig that. She was probably the leftmost candidate in the field, which is apparently not usually a winning strategy in this part of the world. It is, however, a winning strategy in our house, where somebunall of us are reputed to be somewhere left of communism.

3) It has come to pass that they're putting new carpet in my office. This will require that I should pack up all my shit and move it elsewhere so that they can work in here over the weekend. It also means that if I'm going to paint in here (and I am -- the walls in here look like crap and do not fit my theme of copper-colored world domination), I need to do it between the Time of Packing and Monday, when I should be able to move back in. So, if anybody was really itching to paint things, I wouldn't mind a little assistance... Bribes can be negotiated.

coppery paint

We have some copper paint that you could use, if you like. Also, some crackle medium and the greens used in our dining room. Yes, we'll be using more copper when we eventually paint the hallway ceilings -- but we'll have to buy more of it for that anyway. Let me know?

I'm not sure that I actually want a coppery color in -- I think my wall color is going to be Sherwin-Williams 6179 (Artichoke), and I'm not sure yet what should go with that.

That doesn't quite get you there, does it? The color name for the carpet is Compassion.

They don't make any carpet in World Domination, as far as I'm aware. On further reflection, though, I may want the copper for my doorframe and the frame around the corkboard which my predecessor for some reason painted robin's egg blue.

Actually, I found it quite sad watching the video on cnn.com, but then they start to interview a lady at the zoo and there are the kids jumping up and down in the background, which gets quite humorous (at least in my eyes). So, perhaps you should go watch the video...

According to Cubicle Warfare (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0761510664/sr=8-1/qid=1155176619/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-6837529-4961428?ie=UTF8), it's a subtle/not-so-subtle way to show that you're not likely to be intimidated. Which might be moot in your case, though. Because you always (or at least seem to always) give off that vibe anyways, just being you. ;)
