For interested parties, my new HR journal will be at [livejournal.com profile] thejobfairy. There's nothing there yet, but soon there will be. I will try to update on Fridays, or whenever something Really Stupid happens. The Job Fairy will need an icon, too, so if you have any grand ideas, I'd like to hear them.

I made the new journal as one of the advertising-sponsored ones, mostly to see what it would look like. In case you were wondering, the plus-level layout is majorly intrusive and annoying. I don't expect that I'll be spending a lot of time logged into that account, except when I'm updating. There's only one ad on that page. The aggregator view of entries has a box ad on the top, a bar with sponsored searches underneath and a sidebar, which contains a picture ad and a number of text ads. All of the text ads on this one are "Hot Stock Tip!" ads. Ick. Anyway, I'm not paying out for another journal, so I suppose I'll have to live with it.

In other news of things I have to live with, I took the last of my synthroid today. Now, I get 90 days of the stuff at the time, and as of right now, I have no medical insurance. That means that 90 days of synthroid will run me about $85. If I can hold off without meds for 14 days, I will have my new insurance in place, and the scrip will be infinitely cheaper (I think, anyway. Having not gone through this company before, it is hard to say whether the pills will be covered at all, and if so, at what rate). I suppose I should have counted my pills and anticipated this, and budgeted to buy new pills at the sorry bastard with no insurance rate. Or something. Maybe if I call the pharmacy, they could sell me two weeks worth of pills instead of the whole 90-day scrip. We'll see.

Somehow, despite my periodic best intentions to Do the Right Thing&tm; and Take My Meds&tm;, I never seem to manage it for more than a week or two straight on (the record was about six weeks, but then I also had a broken finger to remind me). I reckon they might as well go to someone who will get some benefit from them, unlike me not being able to tell the difference.

Mine are 125, so if you take one and a half it should put you right between your prescribed dose and your preferred dose. I'll drop them by your house when I'm out doing errands today.
