Boy in a dress barred from prom.

The really good bit about this one is that they had let him go to school dressed as a woman all year. What, suddenly at prom it's not okay, when it's okay in the classroom? People are so full of weird.

Their technicality was that during the school year, he was dressing "as a woman," but not wearing an actual dress except to prom. To my mind, that explains nothing and only adds the weirdness of some garments being for boys only and some for girls only to the gender-issue mix. To the administration, the policy no doubt makes perfect sense.

Sure. A little makeup, some fake nails, that's all good, as long as you have the Pants on? Somehow, that doesn't make it make any more sense to me.

Me either, unless they want a policy that girls have to wear skirts. We tried that some time ago, and it was, well, cold in winter. I couldn't wear pants to school until my freshman year in high school, and then we still couldn't wear jeans. For reference, that was in Texas in 1974.

I believe that if I were required to wear skirts to school, I would have stopped going to school. I don't know 100% for sure that I would have Back Then, but I certainly would Now.
