Packing up, but not yet going home.

I'm spending the afternoon cleaning out my desk and packing up my personal stuff, so that tomorrow I can spend the day filling out my exit paperwork, talking to HR, and convincing co-workers to take me out for drinks. I haven't been here long, but I still seem to have accumulated a fair amount of Personal Workplace Cruft.

Now, I did move from a desk in the front hall to a cube in the back farm, so I got special topics in digging through several desks to recover my stuff, which was fun.


I found:

Desk One (old desk):
- A teaspoon
- A tube of superglue
- Some makeup donated by co-workers (who probably thought I didn't have any)
- Some hair wax (assumed same)
- A pixy stick (red)

Desk Two (new desk):
- A burnt copy of Apocalyptica's Cult
- Circa ten soda can tabs (collected for Super Roommate J's coke mail project)
- Two teacups (one company-issued with logo, one personal with gold stars)
- One half-canister of Blackberry Sage tea
- One half-canister of instant vanilla chai
- One small ceramic bunny
- One small agate coyote
- One golden apple
- One Welsh flag
- One red altar cloth
- Three books loaned to sxypaganmom's son, and recently returned
- One stress ball in the shape of George W. Bush
- One abstract painting skillfully executed by James, age 10
- One picture of Archimedes, imaginary kitten of record
- Two partially-used tubes of cough drops, menthol
- One partially-used spool of dental floss, peppermint
- One tube of lip balm, tangerine-clove.

I'm debating about taking home my nameplate. It's not like they're going to use it, you know?

I do the same thing. You could take some nice photos of them and make a pretentious coffee table book.
